LEBANON EMERGENCY

The situation in Lebanon is worsening, and civilians are the victims of violent attacks on the Israeli-Lebanese border.

Lebanon has experienced its deadliest period since 2006: more than 500 dead and 2,000 wounded.

Our teams are working every day to guarantee access to healthcare for displaced populations affected by the conflict, but the emergency is intensifying and the smooth running of our actions is threatened.

We need your support to provide the necessary and lasting assistance to these populations, victims of the escalating conflict!

Our intervention in Lebanon

Première Urgence Internationale has been present in Lebanon since 1996. As a result, our teams have been able to react swiftly in this highly destabilized context since October 7, 2023 and the conflict in Gaza. They are working tirelessly to guarantee access to primary healthcare for displaced populations affected by the conflict. In the southern governorates and Nabatiyeh over the past year, they have carried out 50,000 consultations in nine primary health care centers, distributed four tons of medicines and provided 184 households with financial transfers to help them cope with emergency shelter and protection problems.

The current situation is extremely alarming: hospitals are overwhelmed by the arrival of thousands of wounded, a large number of essential infrastructures such as roads and telecommunication tools have been destroyed, and the main roads are overloaded by the nearly 100,000 people who have had to leave everything behind to save their lives.

Having brought their own families to safety, our teams are now tackling the onerous task of meeting the needs of the populations affected by the fighting. They intend to support health centers in the south of the country, overwhelmed by the influx of wounded, by ensuring continuity of care and supplying essential medicines, particularly for the treatment of chronic illnesses.
